Every so often, I can't help but dig out my box o' adventure and leaf through my collection of handbooks, as well as the piles of character sheets and campaign notes.

I didn't really have much in the way of friends as a kid. It's difficult to encourage your peers to come over to your house to hang out when you're ostensibly poor, not to mention my inability to keep my mouth shut when it came to my fellow children's intelligence, so I spent a lot of my young life alone with my books. That all changes when I met my first good friends, a set of twins a few years older then me.

Their parents were divorced, so they always had the BEST stuff. Every game console that came out, all the coolest toys and comics; everything that any kid could ever want to play with. However, what we spent most of our time doing was scribbling down character stats on graph paper and pretending to be glorious adventurers seeking adventure and riches.

Dungeons & Dragons (as well as a fair few other tabletop RPGs) stuck with my through the rest of my life. I spent my entire scholastic career in one campaign or another, and eventually found myself running more games than I played in. Being a bit of a storyteller by nature, the role seemed as natural as breathing and was my first, and often only, experience in being a leader.\

It's been years since I've played, friends having spread to the far corners of the world and lost touch, but that itch to pull on my sorcerer's robes and stride fearlessly into the dank lair of some unknown terror, spells on my fingertips and companions at my side, has never left me.

Man, I wish I could play.

WELL, I'm having some PC trouble.

Again.

It appears that my RAM is made of ballsack and awful, and as such it likes to throw the occasional BSOD whenever I'm using a significant of memory (as-in, more than none), as well as generally blowing the big one.

I just ordered a new set and it's on the way while I get the pair I have swapped for a functional set, so bear with me for a bit.

The next couple of comics are good to go, will see what I can do with my little netbook!

Glad to hear it!

It's tough when you want to play but can't, there's really no means to just throw together a crawl and play unless you have a lot of friends around.

Being a near-hermit makes this a problem for me.
